How To: Add Workflow Delegation for Backup Approval

If a manager/approver is out of the office for a period of time, Workflow Delegation can be set up to assign a different manager to handle approvals during their absence.   Delegations can be add by the employee prior to their absence or by the Admin on behalf of the employee.

Managers can delegate their workflows to other users so that the other user can respond to workflow actions for the time specified by the initiator of the delegation. You can select all workflows or you can give each type of workflow a different delegated user. The delegated user can see workflow actions of the originator in their own To Do list.  For example, if the selected workflow is Time Off Request, the delegated users sees time off requests. The originating user can also still see these workflow actions in their own To Do list.  

To delegate workflows to another user for a period of time, select Backup Approver from the Home Tab.  
   

*If you do not have this option, navigate to My Info / My HR / Delegations 


To add a delegation, click the Add New button in the top right corner.


Select the backup approver, the workflow type, and date range. The Date To must be a date in the future.
To delegate All Workflows to the same person for the same period of time,
navigate to the bottom of the Workflow Type list and select All Workflows
Click Add to enable the delegation. 


To assign a delegation to an employee as the Admin, under the employee's profile, on the HR tab / Workflow Delegation, select + Add


Select the person to Delegate To, the type of Workflow, the Date range and click Add
Employee delegations can be managed from this view using the Actions menu
