How To: Enter IRS Lock-in Letter
An IRS lock-in letter requires that you update the employee's federal withholding per the IRS guidelines.
Under the Tax Information / Federal section, select Add on the Federal Tax line. This will add a new Federal Withholding line. Enter the effective date from the IRS letter.
Update the tax Status and other fields based on the IRS letter.
Check the Lock In Letter Received box. This will lock the line item so that the employee cannot update their own tax information after the effective date.
