How To: Enter Retro Earnings for a Salary Employee
Retroactive pay changes can be automatically calculated in the system and automatically applied to the next paycheck for salary employees. To use the Retro feature, the following functionality must be configured.
- Retro Earning must be set up on the company level (Payroll Setup > Earnings Codes). If you do not have this code set up on your account, contact AtlasHR
- Employee must have Salary Autopay set up (How To: Setup Employee with Salary Autopay)
- Employee must have an Autopay Schedule enabled (How To: Setup Employee Auto pay Schedule)
- Employee Base Compensation record must have an effective date prior to the pay period start date.
On the next scheduled check date, once the employee's pay statement has been initiated and the normal salary amount entered, the system will automatically create the Retro Earning code(s) and calculate the number of hours from prior pay periods. The difference in pay based on the salary amount will be automatically added to the pay statement. Each prior pay period will be listed on a separate line item on the pay statement.
When completing the Payroll Prep process, a payroll alert will create for any employees with System-Generated Retro Earnings
