How To: Create a Schedule Template

Schedule Templates can be created to define both the shift details and the assigned employees per shift. 

From the Schedules tab of the dashboard, click on the Schedule Templates icon. 


Click on the Add New button. Select the Base Settings for your schedule and Save.


Enter a Template Name and select how open shifts will be managed. You can also adjust the Manager Group for the schedule if changes are needed from the Base Settings


You can choose to automatically generate and post the schedule from this template if the schedule doesn't change each cycle. 


Once all settings have been updated as needed, click Save. You can build the schedule template from scratch by going directly to View By Week. In this example, we will build the template by importing a workload template (shift template). For instructions on how to create a shift template, see How To: Create a Shift Template.

Click Import Workload Template, and select the shift template you wish to use. 


Once the Workload/Shift Template has been imported, select Generate Shifts For Open Coverage and click Yes


Now you can View By Week and begin assigning employees to those shifts. 


Open shifts will appear at the top of the screen and can be dragged down to the employee who should be assigned that shift.
Notes
Note: If the shifts do not appear at the top, make sure "Try the new look and feel" is toggled on.


If you try to assign a shift to an employee that isn't available during that day/time, an error will appear.


You can also assign shifts by clicking on the open shift, selecting Assign Employee, and choosing the employee from a list. 



Once all shifts have been assigned to an employee, your schedule template can be used to create live schedules.
