How To: Request an Employee Base Rate Change

When an employee needs a change to their base pay rate, managers can submit this request directly through the system. Follow the steps below to complete this action.

On the Home tab hover over the Requests icon and select Base Pay Change. If you do not have this icon, open the Main Menu and go to Team > HR > HR Actions.

   

On the HR Actions screen, click Start.



Select the employee whose rate your are changing and click Continue.
Note: This effective date is the date of the change request. You will enter the effective date of the rate itself during the next step.


Click +Add to enter a new rate record.
Do not edit the existing rate record; always add a new record so the rate history is preserved.



Enter the New Base Compensation information:
Effective From: Enter the actual start date of the new rate.
Reason Code: Select a reason for the rate change.
Amount/Per: Input the rate amount and the frequency based on the employee's pay type. For example, an hourly employee would have an amount per hour. A salaried employee would have an amount per year or per pay period (PP). 
Hours/Per/PP in Year: These fields are populated based on your company's pay schedule and should not be changed unless you have been specifically instructed to do so by HR or Payroll. 
Amount Earning Autopay: Select Salary or Regular if the employee is salaried. This turns on the automatic pay in payroll so that their wages do not have to be manually entered.
Autopay Type: Select how you want the autopay to be applied:
 - Hours: Will automatically enter a set number of hours.
 - Amount: Will automatically pay a specific amount, no hours will be recorded.
 - Both: Will automatically pay a specific amount and record a set number of hours.

Click Save.



The new rate will now appear in the Base Compensation table. Click Submit.



Your request will be sent to HR for review and approval.
