How To: Update Employee Pay Rate

To modify or add a pay rate to an employee record, navigate to Employee Information > Base Compensation > Current Compensation.  

To modify an existing employee pay rate, select View/Edit under Actions

To add a new pay rate, select +Add


Enter the below options for the pay rate:


Effective From: Enter the date the rate is effective.
  1. For salary employees, this will correspond with an active Autopay Schedule and determine pro-rated pay during the pay period.  See: How To: Setup Employee Auto pay Schedule
  2. For hourly employees, hours recorded on or after this date will have this rate applied.
Reason Code: may be required and can be selected from the drop down list.  To add new reason selections to this list, contact AtlasHR 
Amount: salary or hourly rate to be paid.  This can be set up as PP (Pat Period), per Year, per Month, per Week, per Hour
Hours: Number of hours the employee will generally work per PP (Pay Period), per Year, per Month, per Week.  Full-time employees will work 2080 hours per year.  
PP in Year: Number of pay periods in the year (Monthly-12; Semimonthly-24; Biweekly-26, Weekly-52) 
Amount Earning Autopay: Select the earning code that will be automatically paid for salary employees each paycheck (usually Regular or Salary).  See: How To: Setup Employee with Salary Autopay
Autopay Type: Select the type of automatic pay that will apply.
  1. Hours-will automatically enter a set number of hours.
  2. Amount-will automatically pay a specific amount, no hours will be recorded.
  3. Both-will automatically pay a specific amount and record a set number of hours.
